We aim to create cards that are fun, sophisticated and sweet. We make the kinds of greeting cards we’d give our own friends & family for all the moments of life we’d like to recognize and share.

How It All Started

One afternoon in the spring of 2007 Sara and Rob were enjoying delicious espresso in sunny Los Angeles when they decided to combine Sara’s endless creative energy and Rob’s champion business sense. It was agreed that a greeting card company would be the perfect way to join their skills. That is how Paper Loop was born!

Who We Are

Paper Loop is a greeting card company originating in Los Angeles, California, founded in 2007 by Sara Cumings & Robert Franklin.

Sara Cumings, Co-Owner/Creative Director:
Sara’s career as an artist began at the age of five when her grandpa gave her an easel and a pair of painter overalls. Ever since, she’s been painting, drawing and making art. In 2002, she graduated from CalArts with a degree in graphic design. Since then, she has worked on many different projects including countless CD covers, books, advertising, web design and wearable art such as t-shirts, scarves and bags. Most recently she has been focusing her full attention on Paper Loop.

Robert Franklin, Co-Owner/Marketing Director:
Robert has a varied background including work in the advertising publishing, and marketing industries. He worked as a production manager at Wired magazine in the mid-1990s, and went back to school to earn an MBA from San Diego State University in 2000. His role at Paper Loop encompasses all these skills as he is a sometimes-art director, sometimes-production manager, sometimes-copywriter and all-the-time marketing director.
